Ang mga Kaibigan. Wilfredo Gacosta or "Ka Nards" began his organizing work in his hometown in Barcelona, Sorsogon (STR). He used to work in a local university before deciding to work full time as a Red guerrilla among the masses of the Bicol region. He emphasized on education work and was martyred in October 1977 in an encounter with the military. He wrote the poem "Ang mga kaibigan" (Friends) among many other poems which had been included in a collection of poetry inspired by Philippine revolution titled STR (acronym for "sa tagumpay ng rebolusyon").
A team from Panay Island's Coronacion "Waling-waling" Chiva Command of the New People's Army renders a collectively read version of Gacosta's poem which also inspired the background song given the same title. "Ang Mga Kaibigan" enumerates who the friends of revolution are: the masses of the Filipino people who are downtrodden, oppressed and exploited yet rising up and joining the swelling ranks of the revolutionary movement.
