The New People's Army is the revolutionary army of the Filipino people under the absolute leadership of the Communist Party of the Philippines.

In carrying out the revolutionary armed struggle, the NPA follows the general line of the new democratic revolution through protracted people's war. It is the principal instrument in implementing the revolutionary program for land reform, the main democratic agenda of the people's revolution.

Red fighters of the NPA are principally drawn from among the peasant masses. The correctness and need to carry out revolutionary armed struggle and the justness of the work of the NPA also inspires workers, students-youth, teachers and other professionals to join the revolutionary army.

The NPA was established in March 29, 1969 with 60 Red fighters armed with 9 automatic rifles and 26 single-shot rifles and handguns. By carrying out tactical offensives, the NPA is able to accumulate arms and weaken the reactionary mercenary troops.

Currently, the NPA has a sum total of at least three divisions or nine brigades or 27 battalions of full-time Red fighters with high-powered rifles. These are augmented by tens of thousands in the people's militias and further on by hundreds of thousands in self-defense units of the mass organizations.

Membership is open to all persons aged 18 years old and above, physically and mentally fit, willing and ready to fight for freedom.

Calbayog City, Samar
Checkpoint Raid		 March 23, 2007. NPA guerillas seized an M16 rifle in an attack on a PNP checkpoint in Sitio Talahib, Trinidad, killing two policemen.
Lingig, Surigao del Sur
Raid		 March 20,2007. Seven high-powered rifles, seven VHF radios and a laptop computer were seized from a logging company in Sitio Mendezona, Raja Cabungsuan.
Las Navas, Northern Samar
Punishment		 March 11, 2007. An NPA team meted the death penalty on Sgt. Jose D. Baccol, an agent of the Military Intelligence Group.
Bicol Region
Punishment		 March 1 & 2, 2007. A former police chief of Magallanes town, Sorsogon and a police chief of Pio V. Corpuz, Masbate were punished for involvement in extrajudicial killings and being a military intelligence agent. He organized and handled military informers and was responsible for numerous cases of harassment and killings of members of legal organizations and local residents.

Political Officer's Conference		 August 9-17. Cagayan Valley holds successful political officer's conference in a guerilla zone in Cagayan with resounding success despite battalion-size operations by the AFP in nearby villages.
North Eastern Luzon
Gains		 July 2005. Mula 1999 hanggang 2004, lumaki nang 904% ang bilang ng mga organisasyong masa sa mga sonang gerilya, at nang 2,538% sa buong rehiyon. Lumaki nang 532% ang bilang ng mga grupong pang-organisa. Ang bilang ng mga komiteng pang-organisa ay lumaki nang 610%. At mula sa wala noong 1999, ilampung baryo na ngayon ang may mga ganap na samahang masa.
National Scene
Gains		 March 29, 2005. The NPA has significantly increased the number of its full-time Red fighters and its automatic rifles and other high-powered weapons. It has organized and trained the people's militia for police work or internal security in the localities and the self-defense in the mass organizations. It is now operating in more than 130 guerrilla fronts covering significant portions of nearly 70 provinces, in around 800 municipalities and more than 9,000 barrios.
Mindanao
Gains		 March 29, 2005. The NPA has maintained the 38 guerilla fronts in the whole island covering 19 provinces, more than 200 towns and cities and more than 2,000 barrios...Mindanao’s revolutionary mass base has reached more than 500,000..; Thousands of the masses have gained economic benefits out of the struggles waged against feudal and semi-feudal exploitation. They have also benefited from various social services such as free medical care, literacy programs and other services implemented by the guerilla units.

Mga Tagumpay ng Kilusang Magbubukid		 Hunyo 2007. Sa kabila ng panggigipit at pandarahas ng reaksyunaryong estado, tuluy-tuloy na umaani ng mga tagumpay sa mga pakikibaka nitong nagdaang 20 taon ang masang magbubukid sa bansa.
Far South Quezon, Southern Tagalog
Kumperensya		 Agosto 2006. Matagumpay na naidaos ang Unang Panlarangang Kumperensya sa Rebolusyong Agraryo sa Far South Quezon. Dinaluhan ito ng 109 delegadong kinabibilangan ng mga tagapangulo ng mga balangay sa Pambansang Katipunan ng mga Magbubukid at mga organisasyon ng masa at mga kasapi ng mga sangay ng Partido sa lokalidad mula sa mga bayan sa Far South Quezon.

Kampanyang "Balik-Bukid"		 Hulyo 2006. Isang matagumpay na kampanyang “balik-bukid” ang inilulunsad ng rebolusyonaryong kilusan sa loob ng konsesyon ng PICOP Resources Inc.
Cagayan Valley
Mga Natamo		 Abril 2006. Kongkretong benepisyo ang natatamo ng ilampung libong magsasaka sa Cagayan Valley bunga ng kanilang mga pakikibakang antipyudal at iba pang pagkilos.

Literatura		 July 21, 2006. Kilalanin ang buhay-na-buhay na paglalarawan ng pagkatao ni Kasamang Armando "Ka Aryong / Ka Simeon / Ka Eladio / Ka Cleto" Teng sa makulay na pagkakalathala ng kanyang talambuhay sa librong Armando.
Cagayan Valley
Edukasyon		 July 2006. Dalawang taon nang masiglang naipatutupad ang programa sa edukasyong masa sa Northern Front ng Cagayan Valley. Bunga ito ng kapasyahan at mga kaparaanang iniluwal ng panrehiyong kumperensya hinggil sa edukasyon na ginanap noong 2004.
Southern Mindanao
Gawaing Bidyo		 June 2006. Binuo ng Merardo Arce Command-BHB (Southern Mindanao Regional Operational Command) noong 2005 ang Pulang Bagani Productions (PBP). Tugon ito sa panawagan ng Partido na pasiglahin ang paglalabas ng mga produksyong bidyo bilang pantulong sa edukasyong masa at propaganda.
Sa Buong Kapuluan
Pangkulturang Pagtatanghal		 June 2006. Mabisang armas sa pagsusulong ng rebolusyon ang sining at panitikan. Muli itong napatunayan sa isang kampanyang antipyudal na inilunsad ng BHB at isang pangkat pangkulturang kumikilos sa isang larangang gerilya sa Bikol noong 2003.
