16 firearms seized, three POWs taken in Compostela raid
October 16. Compostela Valley -- Sixteen assorted automatic weapons were seized by Red guerrillas belonging to the NPA's Alejandro Lanaja Command in a raid last October 7 Barangay Canidkid, Montevista town in the province of Compostela Valley.
The Red fighters raided the AFP's 72nd Infantry Battalion detachment and took as prisoners-of-war Sgt. Raul Reyes and two CAFGU members. According to initial reports, ALC spokesperson Ka Aris Francisco exposed the said military unit as well as the 60th IB as "notorious in committing grave human rights abuses and violations."
Ka Aris likewise added that the three POWs were being treated well "contrary to the mercenary AFP that subjects their captives to physical and mental torture and other forms of abuses."

Inaresto rin bilang mga 'bihag-ng-digma' sina Sgt. Raul Reyes at dalawang CAFGU. Ayon sa mga nauna nang ulat, inilantad ng tagapagsalita ng ALC na si Ka Aris Francisco ang pusakal na paglabag at pag-abuso ng naturang yunit gayundin ng 60th IB sa mga karapatang-tao.
Idinagdag pa ni Ka Aris na maayos na tinatrato ang tatlong sundalo, di katulad ng mersenaryong AFP na ipinapailalim ang mga biktima sa pisikal at mental na tortyur at iba pang mga anyo ng pang-aabuso.
